Lesley Brovner
Founding Partner, Peters Brovner

After wrapping up her more than four-year tenure as first deputy commissioner of the New York City Department of Investigation in 2018, Lesley Brovner and her old boss, Mark Peters, launched the boutique litigation firm Peters Brovner. The firm, which handles civil litigation, internal investigations and regulatory matters, benefits from the deep government and prosecutorial experience that Brovner brings, including stints as chief compliance officer with the state Liquidation Bureau, as an assistant state attorney general and as an assistant district attorney in Queens.
Mark Peters
Founding Partner, Peters Brovner

Mark Peters broke onto the political scene in 2014 when he was appointed commissioner of the 500-person New York City Department of Investigation under then-Mayor Bill de Blasio – and went on to make headlines for investigating the city’s Department of Correction, Department of Buildings and the New York City Housing Authority. In 2019, he helped launch Peters Brovner, a boutique litigation firm that handles civil litigation, internal investigations and regulatory matters. Among his recent clients are a government agency facing attacks from the federal government as well as nonprofit and for-profit entities owed money by the city.
